Ever since we opened in 1962, La Gaffe has been a well-loved Hampstead institution and favoured haunt of locals and travellers alike. We are proud to have won the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for many years, and to be included in their Hall of Fame. Our restaurant is currently closed but used to be a regular winner of OpenTable’s prestigious Diner’s Choice Award. as well as many other eating out awards.
We look forward to welcoming you to La Gaffe - benvenuti!
If you would like to stay in a lovely part of London, with welcoming and helpful hosts, then La Gaffe is the perfect choice. We have the advantage of a bar, in which you can enjoy a drink after a day of exploring London. In the morning, we serve a fine continental-style breakfast with fresh croissants, cheeses, and breads.
Since our opening in the Swinging Sixties when La Gaffe hosted the Beatles and Hollywood stars, we've been a central part of the Hampstead community and loved by locals and travellers alike. We pride ourselves on making our guests feel welcome and giving them a home-from-home experience.
Excellent! Always my first choice.
I live out of London and whenever I have to come up for work, La Gaffe is the only place I want to stay. They are so welcoming, are always prepared to go the extra mile
Family run gorgeous restaurant with an old time feel! A good selection of dishes and very friendly staff!
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights for a short break. The room was very comfy. We had a meal in there which was really lovely, We loved La Gaffe and will definately be going back!
A delight
This charmingly quaint hotel and restaurant is my go to place whenever I need to stay in London. It's a family run business and Lorenzo and his team go out of their way to treat their guests like members of their extended family.
Charming hotel with wonderful staff
My husband and I stayed here for four nights while visiting our daughter and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The room reminded me of ones on the Continent - smallish in size but with everything you need.
